Privacy Policy & End User License Agreement

DriftClean is committed to protecting your privacy and providing transparency about our application usage.

Privacy Policy

DriftClean ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is a device file-cleaning application designed to help users identify and remove unnecessary files such as advertising cache, outdated APK files, residual data, temporary files, and other storage-consuming items. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use the App. The EULA (End User License Agreement) governs your use of the App.

1. Data Controller & Data Protection Officer (DPO)

We act as the Data Controller for any information processed by the App.

Data Protection Officer (DPO):

Users may contact the DPO at any time regarding privacy inquiries, data rights, or complaints.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 On-Device Processing Only (Core Features)

DriftClean performs file scanning, analysis, and cleaning entirely on your device.

We do not upload, transfer, or store any personal files, content, or metadata on our servers.

The following data is processed locally:

  • File categories (images, videos, audio, documents, APKs, cache data)
  • Storage usage statistics
  • File size calculations
  • Paths necessary only for scanning and cleaning

This information never leaves your device.

3. Use of Third-Party Platforms

Although core cleaning operations are local, the App may integrate certain third-party services for analytics, attribution, or error reporting. These services may collect limited technical data to help improve reliability, stability, and performance.

3.1 Analytics & Attribution Platforms

We may use attribution or analytics platforms (e.g., Adjust, AppsFlyer, or equivalent) to understand app performance, install sources, and general usage trends.

Possible data collected by these platforms includes:

  • Device type, model, operating system
  • App version
  • IP address (may be collected temporarily and anonymized)
  • Basic usage events (e.g., app launch)

No personal files or cleaning results are ever shared with any third-party service.

3.2 Firebase Services

We may use Firebase for:

  • Crash reporting
  • Analytics
  • App performance monitoring

Firebase may collect:

  • Device identifiers
  • Crash logs
  • App usage statistics

We configure Firebase to avoid collecting unnecessary personal information whenever possible.

3.3 Opt-Out of Third-Party Data Collection

Users may:

  • Disable data sharing in device system settings (for analytics or advertising ID)
  • Exercise applicable opt-out rights described in Section 7
  • Contact the DPO to request discontinuation of third-party data sharing where legally applicable

5. Data Retention

  • Local file-scan data is retained only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data.
  • Analytics or attribution data retained by third-party platforms is kept only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose described, typically 6–24 months, depending on the provider's policy.
  • Crash logs may be stored for up to 12 months to support app maintenance.

You may contact us or the DPO to request further retention details.

6.4 Right to Know Whether Data Is Sold

DriftClean does not sell personal data, and you may request written confirmation of this.

6.5 Right to Deletion (Right to Erasure)

You may request deletion of personal data collected by third-party services.

Since core operations are local, we do not store user data ourselves.

6.6 Right to Opt Out of Sharing or Selling

If applicable in your region, you may opt out of:

  • Data sharing
